Alina and Jackson's Sacramento Wedding- April 2015

I met this sweet couple when I took their engagement pictures last year in Provo, Utah. We had so much fun with the shoot that I was thrilled when Alina asked if I could fly out to California for their wedding day. They had a private ceremony in the Sacramento LDS Temple, and then a small ring ceremony and fiesta in Granite Bay, CA.

My favorite things about the day:

  • the families- Alina and Jackson both come from big, varied families with different backgrounds, and everyone had such a great time just being together and celebrating Alina and Jackson! They welcomed me into the celebration like I was a long-time friend, and made sure I was set up with a comfortable home to stay in for the weekend and rides to and from the airport
  • the Mexican culture- oh man, I cannot really explain how fun it was for me to be eating the most delicious carne asada tacos while a mariachi band marched down the path to the reception location singing and playing their hearts out. I wish I could have a mariachi band follow me around everywhere actually.. And ugh! Looking at pictures of that salsa is making me salivate right now
  • the DIY decorations- I always love documenting decorations that have been put together with lots of love, time, and effort by family members and friends. I loved the cloth strip banners surrounding the pavilion, the ring ceremony arch covered in succulents, and the rustic table centerpieces
Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session and wedding day. Enjoy!

The end...almost! I forgot to mention that while hanging with friends of the bride and groom in between events, I met two awesome couples, and both of the boys in the couples later asked me to be sneaky and get pictures of them proposing to their lovely ladies. So I owe my connection to two more awesome couples to Alina and Jackson as well. Thanks, you guys!
