Matt and Whitney // Columbus, Ohio // Brewery District // High Line Car House Wedding

I didn't know Matt and Whitney before photographing their wedding, but by the end of the day I felt like a long-time friend. They were so loving, kind, and grateful. Whitney's smile lit up the whole room, and she radiated joy and love every time she looked at her new husband.

There were so many beautiful moments in the day. Whitney's dad had passed away, but he was very much a part of the wedding. Whitney had a picture of him wrapped tightly around her bouquet of roses. Her brother walked her down the aisle and danced with her to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" during the reception. When the song was over everyone was in tears, and Matt went straight to his wife to hold her tight. The picture of him hugging her as Whitney holds her brother's hand is one of my favorites. I loved the message from Matt on the bottom of Whitney's shoes, the delicious donuts from Resch's Bakery, the dimly lit, moody atmosphere of the High Line Car House, and the fact that there was a horrible forecast but the rain held off until we were done with all outdoor shots.

The moment that stands out in my memory the most was when Whitney walked down the aisle and cut into the officiant's speech to ask if she could kiss Matt right that second. Everyone laughed as the officiant said, "you'll have to ask him!" He said she'd have to wait until it was official, and the kiss was worth the wait. Seeing her burst with excitement when she saw her future husband made me so happy.

Congrats, Matt and Whitney! Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.
