Documentary Newborn Session // Orem, Utah

This couple has a special place in my heart because they introduced me to my husband/best friend, and I just love them a lot. Natasha just so happened to give birth to her first baby (36 hours of an all-natural labor and delivery... no big deal...WHAT) while my husband and I were in town for the holidays. I feel so lucky that I got to document some sweet moments in the hospital and some of sweet Baby June's first days in her new home.

Also, Natasha designs custom homes, and so it's no surprise that their home was the most beautifully decorated home I've ever done a newborn shoot in.

Best of 2017

2017- you were a tough one for me, but I still loved you! This was my first year trying to balance being a mom and keeping a photography business running. I often found myself crying, pulling my hair out in frustration, and thoroughly exhausted. I also found myself staring at my sleeping daughter with a kind of admiration I've never felt before, crying tears of joy as friends and family members offered lots of support, and working on some of my favorite weddings ever.

In 2017 I was lucky enough to take pictures for people in Ohio, Utah, D.C., Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Arizona, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

I loved seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time, watching Mean Girls the Musical in D.C. before it heads to broadway in 2018, dressing my daughter up as a Granny for Halloween, and spending every free moment with my family and my husband's family.

To all of my 2017 clients, thank you for your patience with me as I learn the ropes of being a working mom! I still can't believe how lucky I am to be able to support my family by doing a job that makes my heart so happy. You are truly the best, all of you.

These are a few of my favorite moments from the past year. As always, I love seeing shots of couples bundled up in the snow, high school seniors in summer sundresses, and families under colorful fall leaves. Love is always in season. Enjoy!

XOXOXO
Love,
Alex
